MANUSCRIPT PROPOSALS

At Four Sparrows Publishing, our mission is to multiply the ministry of pastors by turning their deep study of Scripture into accessible resources that teach and equip others—furthering the gospel far beyond the pulpit.

We believe that the truths pastors uncover through faithful study should reach far beyond Sunday mornings. Our goal is to help you transform your teaching, study notes, or sermon series into well-crafted books that inspire and disciple readers.

We welcome unsolicited manuscript proposals from pastors, ministry leaders, and Christian writers who share this calling.

HOW WE PUBLISH

We partner with authors to prepare, design, and publish their books through Amazon’s self-publishing platform.

·       We do not print or sell books directly.

·       Your book is available for purchase on Amazon.

·       You can place discounted bulk orders by contacting us directly.

·       Authors earn royalties from Four Sparrows Publishing.

·       Four Sparrows retains an agreed-upon commission percentage of sales as compensation for our work.

This model enables us to make publishing accessible without large upfront fees, all while maintaining professional quality and ministry integrity.

Thank you for considering Four Sparrows Publishing as a partner in sharing the message God has entrusted to you.

FAQ’s

What services do you provide?

After receiving a highly polished and fully edited manuscript, we design, format, and publish your book on Amazon.

How do you sell your books?

We use Amazon’s self-publishing platform, Kindle Direct Publishing. Our books are available for purchase directly through Amazon or by contacting us for bulk orders at Logan@foursparrowspublishing.com.

After signing a contract, how long does it take for a book to be released?

Publishing times vary widely based on several factors, but most books are released within eight months to one year after signing a contract.

How can I ensure my book will sell if I publish with your company?

Four Sparrows Publishing is dedicated to producing a high-quality book available for order on Amazon. However, book sales depend largely on author-driven promotion and word of mouth. We are not a marketing company, and while we will help make your book available to readers, Four Sparrows cannot guarantee sales.

May I contact Four Sparrows Publishing to discuss my book proposal?

We do not discuss book proposals over the phone or through email until a contractual agreement is in place. Please follow the Manuscript Submission Guidelines provided at the top of the page.

Do you accept simultaneous submissions?

Yes, Four Sparrows Publishing accepts manuscript proposals that are being simultaneously considered elsewhere.

Am I able to submit my complete manuscript for review?

Please begin by submitting a manuscript proposal form along with 3–4 sample chapters. This helps us efficiently evaluate each proposal before requesting the full manuscript.

Do you provide advances?

We do not offer any financial advances prior to publication. Four Sparrows Publishing cannot guarantee any sales.

Do you release electronic editions?

Yes, in most cases we publish both print and electronic editions.

Will you promote my book?

Four Sparrows Publishing does not offer marketing services. However, we may feature your book on our website and social media platforms for limited promotional exposure.

Will you handle most of the editing for my book?

Four Sparrows Publishing considers only high-quality, well-edited manuscripts for publication. Authors are expected to submit work that is as polished as possible, with correct spelling, grammar, and continuity.

What is the proper way to submit my manuscript?

We accept manuscripts in a standard word processing format, on letter-size pages, using a clean, readable font. Use single spacing throughout and avoid decorative formatting, unusual layouts, or extra spaces between paragraphs. Typed or handwritten submissions are not accepted.

What kind of response can I expect regarding my manuscript proposal?
You can expect one of three possible responses from us:

1.     Not a fit for us.
Unfortunately, your manuscript isn’t a good match for Four Sparrows Publishing. This doesn’t mean your work lacks value—it simply may not align with our current focus or publishing goals. We’re unable to provide detailed critique or further comment in this case.

2.     Promising, but needs revision.
We see potential in your submission, but it requires further development. If you address the revisions we suggest, we’d be happy to review it again. Please note that this does not guarantee acceptance; it simply means we believe your work could be a good fit with additional effort. The revision process is your responsibility, and resubmission does not obligate us to publish.

3.     Ready to discuss a contract.
If your manuscript meets our standards and fits our mission, we’ll reach out to discuss a publishing agreement. However, even at this stage, no manuscript goes straight to print. Four Sparrows Publishing is a royalty-paying publisher, and we partner closely with authors through the editing and production process to ensure a high-quality final book.

What genres do you accept?
We primarily publish books that align with our mission—Christian non-fiction resources that equip, teach, and inspire others. We do not currently publish fiction, poetry, or children’s picture books.

Do you retain the copyright to my book?
No. Authors retain full copyright to their work. Four Sparrows Publishing simply holds the right to publish and distribute it under the terms of our contract.

Who owns the ISBN?
Four Sparrows Publishing will assign an ISBN to your book as part of the publishing process.

Will I get to approve the cover design and formatting?
Yes. We collaborate with authors on cover design and formatting to ensure the final product reflects both your vision and our publishing standards.

What editing services do you provide after signing a contract?
Once a manuscript is accepted, our editors may provide light to moderate editing to prepare it for publication. However, we do not offer developmental or ghostwriting services.

How are royalties calculated and paid?
Royalties are based on a percentage of the net sales received from Amazon and any other sales channels. Authors receive royalty payments quarterly.

Are there any upfront costs to the author?
No, authors do not pay upfront publishing fees. Our revenue comes from book sales.

Can I order author copies of my book?
Yes. Authors can buy copies of their book at a discounted rate for events, personal sales, or giveaways. You can also expect to receive 10 complimentary author copies.

Can I revise or update my book after it’s been published?
Yes, minor updates or corrections can be made after publication. Substantial revisions may require a new edition and updated publishing agreement.

Do you accept co-authored manuscripts?
Yes, provided all authors agree on rights and royalties before submission.

Do you publish books outside the United States?
Yes. Because our books are distributed through Amazon, they are available internationally.

Can I withdraw my manuscript after submission?
Yes. You may withdraw your proposal at any time before signing a contract.

Please make a publishing agreement. The author will receive a percentage of the net revenue from Amazon sales. We are publishing the book through Kindle Direct Publishing. We will do payouts quarterly.
